Ashley & Jeff’s love story is one that reminds us how life’s hardest seasons can lead us to the most beautiful beginnings. From Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, this couple booked their Banff elopement with us a year ago, and their August wedding day was nothing short of magical. With their sweet pups Finnegan and Stella by their side, they chose to celebrate in true mountain style: casual, lighthearted, joyful, and simple.
🌲 The Ceremony
In the heart of Banff National Park, surrounded by towering peaks and endless alpine air, Ashley & Jeff exchanged vows. Their ceremony was intimate and filled with laughter, yet touched with a moment of remembrance for Ashley’s dad, Bob, who passed away from cancer in 2019. Their officiant introduced them as Mr. and Mrs. Lynch, marking the start of their new chapter together.
🐾 Of course, their furry family members stole the show — Finnegan and Stella added an extra layer of joy, wagging tails and all. No one “gave away” the bride, as Ashley walked proudly into this new chapter on her own terms.
💍 The Proposal
Jeff proposed in a way that perfectly captured their story. During a City and Colour concert in Edmonton, Ashley’s favorite musician, he got down on one knee during the song “We Found Each Other in the Dark.” Surrounded by music and magic, Ashley said yes.
🍻 How They Met
Their first meeting in 2019 was just as serendipitous. Ashley, still grieving the loss of her dad, tagged along with a friend to a music festival. That’s where she met Jeff. A growler of strawberry rhubarb sour beer she had helped brew sparked their first conversation. Jeff, a homebrewer himself, instantly connected with her, and the rest was history.
